TeamsActivo

Keep your Teams status green

Stop Microsoft Teams from showing you as Away while you read or take a call. On Mac, Windows, Linux and Android.

After five minutes without keyboard or mouse activity, Teams changes your status to Away. With TeamsActivo it stays on Available.

It only acts when it has to

Teams switches you to Away after five minutes without keyboard or mouse input, even while you are working. TeamsActivo prevents that without you noticing.

  1. It watches how long you have been idle

It checks every 15 seconds. While you type or move the mouse, it does nothing at all.

  2. After 60 seconds, it simulates minimal activity

It moves the pointer one pixel and puts it back. You cannot see it, and it never clicks or types.

  3. It steps aside when it would get in the way

It does not move the pointer while a mouse button is held or an app is full screen, such as a video or a presentation.

  4. It turns on and off with Teams

It starts when you open Teams and stops when you close it. You can limit it to work hours and stop it after several hours without real use.

One licence, all your devices

The same key works on 3 devices at once, in any mix of systems.

macOS

Menu bar app for macOS 13 or later. It asks for Accessibility permission the first time, which is what lets it move the pointer.

Mac guide

Windows

Tray app for Windows 10 and 11. Nothing else to install and no administrator rights needed.

Windows guide

Linux

Service for X11, GNOME and KDE, with an optional tray icon, that starts with your session.

Linux guide

Android

Keeps the screen on while Teams is in the foreground, which is what stops your phone from marking you Away.

Mobile guide

On iPhone and iPad an app cannot do this: iOS does not allow it. The mobile guide explains which system settings help.

What it does not do, stated plainly

We would rather you knew before paying.

  • It does not act while the screen is lockedIf you lock the computer, or it locks itself, Teams will mark you Away. TeamsActivo never blocks a manual lock.
  • It does not work with the lid closedA closed laptop goes to sleep. No app can simulate activity on a sleeping computer.
  • Your company policies come firstIf your organisation enforces screen lock through MDM, GPO or Intune, that policy takes priority.
  • It does not set your status by handIt never touches Teams or your account. It only keeps the system from seeing you as idle, just as moving the mouse would.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Teams show me as Away when I am working?

Teams changes your status to Away when the system has had no keyboard or mouse input for about five minutes, when you lock the computer or when it goes to sleep. Reading a document, thinking or talking on the phone counts as being idle.

What permissions does it need?

On macOS it asks for Accessibility permission, which is what allows it to move the pointer. On Windows and Linux it needs no special permissions. On Android it asks for usage access so it knows when Teams is in the foreground.

Can my company tell that I use it?

TeamsActivo does not modify Teams or connect to your Microsoft account. It is one more app installed on your computer, visible like any other to whoever manages that computer. Use it on your own devices and within your organisation's policies.

What happens if I stop paying?

The app stops acting. If you cancel, it keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. You can subscribe again whenever you like with the same account.

How many devices can I use it on?

On 3 at the same time with one licence. From your account you can unlink a device to activate another.
